QUEEN’S PARK – Jerry Ouellette, MPP Oshawa is
pleased to congratulate today’s announcement by Oshawa's
Physician Recruitment Task Force.
Earlier today, Sandy Yorke, Chair of the Task Force, announced
that four new doctors have been acquired to start practicing
in Oshawa in the new year and that they are actively engaged
in recruiting four more physicians in the near future.
Mr. Ouellette, who is a member of the Task Force, says Oshawa's
recent provincial designation from the Ministry of Health’s
Underserviced Area Program (UAP) went a long way in being
able to bring more physicians to the area.
“I applaud the City of Oshawa and Task Force members
for their hard work”, says Mr. Ouellette. “This
announcement will assist in addressing the shortage of physicians
in our community and help to ensure that quality health care
is available to all residents of Oshawa.”
