OUELLETTE HOSTS 7th ANNUAL “KIDS’
FISHING DAY”
Oshawa – Jerry J. Ouellette MPP, Oshawa is pleased
to present Kid’s Fishing Day 2007, Saturday May 26th
at the Heber Down Conservation Area, in Whitby.
The fun begins at 11:00 am. The day includes fishing for
the children, outdoor demonstrations, face painting, conservation
displays, lure making and dog demonstrations and more. There
is no cost for the event and complimentary equipment, bait,
lunch and beverages will be available. All fish caught will
be cleaned and bagged for the young anglers. Activities will
conclude at 3:00 pm.
Participants are reminded to dress appropriately and to bring
insect repellent.
Kid’s Fishing Day 2007 is a partnership with the Aurora
District Ministry of Natural Resources, Central Lake Ontario
Conservation Authority, John O’Toole MPP, Durham, Ontario
Federation of Anglers and Hunters Zone ‘E’, Ducks
Unlimited, South Central Ontario Big Game Association, Pickering
Rod and Gun Club, Ontario Sporting Dog Association, Eastview
Boys & Girls Club, Westmount Kiwanis, Durham Regional
Police, Oshawa YWCA, Oshawa Community Health Centre, Simcoe
Hall Settlement House, Toronto Sportsman Show, Port Perry
Bassmasters, Muskies Canada, and Kids Cops and Canadian Tire
to encourage youngsters to enjoy the benefits of recreational
fishing.
Mr. Ouellette says, “This is a great opportunity for
children who don’t usually have the chance to go fishing.
They can learn what it’s all about and discover the
outdoors”.
