OUELLETTE PRESENTS OSHAWA MINOR HOCKEY WITH CHEQUE FOR $72,900.00

Oshawa –Jerry Ouellette MPP, Oshawa today presented the Oshawa Minor Hockey Association with a cheque for $72,900.00 on behalf of the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
The presentation of the cheque to Oshawa Minor Hockey Association President, Bob Crystal, took place at the opening ceremonies of the new Legends Centre, Oshawa’s impressive new sport’s facility on Harmony Road North.
Mr. Ouellette says, “The City of Oshawa has been committed to new and upgraded recreational facilities in our community and I am pleased to be able to contribute additional assistance to the development of the great sport of hockey in Oshawa.”
The funding will allow the organization to increase players’ hockey skills and success in hockey and school. It will also increase coaching skills through the purchase of equipment and skill clinics-coach mentorship.

“It is great to have valued partnerships with the Oshawa Minor Hockey Association and all the hockey leagues to fully appreciate and utilize this outstanding facility we are opening today”, pronounced Mayor John Gray. “The people of Oshawa are grateful for the contributions of Jerry Ouellette and the Trillium Foundation in making today’s announcement a reality”.

The Ontario Trillium Foundation is an agency of the provincial government’s Ministry of Culture, and annually distributes $100 million of government funding each year to assist in building healthy and vibrant communities.

“The receipt of this grant allows us to improve our development program to ensure that it develops our players not only as elite athletes but as students and members of our community,” affirms Bob Crystal, President of the Oshawa Minor Hockey Association.
