HYDROGEN FUTURE DRIVES INTO OSHAWA
Oshawa – Jerry Ouellette, MPP for Oshawa would like
to congratulate General Motors on its commitment to environmentally
friendly technology.
General Motors of Canada Limited and Hydrogenics Corporation
today demonstrated that commercially viable hydrogen-powered
industrial vehicles are closer to the market than many people
think.
“I am pleased to see GM has begun a gradual movement
away from the dependency on lead-based batteries to the new
clean hydrogen technology,” says Ouellette.
Mr. Ouellette was on-hand this morning for a trial-demonstration
of hydrogen powered forklift trucks at General Motors’
car plant in Oshawa.
Ouellette adds, “General Motors is taking the lead
along the road to hydrogen economy and I’m proud Oshawa
is at the forefront of the alternative energy development
within the automotive sector.”
