JERRY OUELLETTE BRINGS OSHAWA TO QUEEN’S
PARK
Queens Park – The Oshawa Community Museum and Archives
is one of the featured exhibits in the east wing of the Legislative
building. The prints featured in the exhibit highlight the
restoration of three homes in Oshawa; Henry House (circa 1849),
Robinson House (circa 1846), and Guy House (circa 1835). The
exhibit celebrates the 50th Anniversary (1957-2007) of the
Oshawa Historical Society.
Also featured in the display is The Oshawa Telegram from
Saturday March 8, 1924, the day Oshawa was elevated to city
status.
“I am always proud to have aspects of Oshawa here on
display at Queen’s Park,” said Ouellette.
Each year Ontario Museums, historic sites, archives, and
cultural societies are invited to display an exhibit in the
hallway cases on the Legislature. Each exhibit is displayed
for a four month period.
The Oshawa exhibit will be on display until the week of September
17, 2007.
